Our students don’t just study history—they create it. Through hands-on projects embedded directly into our courses, they curate museum exhibits, design digital timelines and websites, conduct oral histories, and engage in historic preservation. In HIST 402: Public History, they gain practical skills in cultural resource management, museum curation, and interpretive storytelling while working on topics that matter to their communities. Students also have the opportunity to design and edit our nationally award-winning student publication, Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV Historia and present their work at our annual student conference, gaining real-world experience that sets them apart. Unlike other history programs in the region, we ensure students graduate with a portfolio of meaningful work, professional connections, and the skills to make history relevant today.
