The Application Window is open between October 1 and October 25, 2024, for the Department of History's Fall Scholarships.

Through the exceptional generosity of private donors and the Friends of History, an alumni and emeritus faculty association, the Department of History at Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV confers approximately $25,000 in scholarships and awards each academic year to currently-enrolled History BA, History-Social Science Teacher Preparation BA, and History MA students. Awardees are honored at the annual Wanda Washington History Department Student Conference, held at the conclusion of each academic year.

In the Fall semester, the Department of History awards two unique and substantial scholarships, the David M. Campbell Scholarship in History and the Pearl Harbor Legacy Scholarship

  • The David M. Campbell Scholarship in History is intended to support students with an interest in , or plans to pursue a career in public history. Special consideration will be given to students who strengthen diversity in professional fields such as librarianship, archival and records management, and historical preservation, etc.

  • The Pearl Harbor Legacy Scholarship in History is intended to ensure that the experiences of servicemen and women present at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 are remembered and shared in classrooms at all levels of education.

The donor goals for these two special awards are also described here
