Program Eligibility

 

Eligibility & Selection

  • Be a newly admitted, Fall semester, incoming  Transfer student
  • Make a commitment to the Sankofa Scholars program during your time at CSUEB

Program Requirements

  • You must commit to the Sankofa Scholars Program for the first academic year you are enrolled at Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV.
  • Participate in program-related activities/ Two events per semester
  • Meet with a Sankofa counselor at least two (2) times per semester
  • Regularly meet with a Sankofa peer mentor
  • Remain in full-time enrollment status (12 units) and good academic standing with the university.

 Important Dates

December 1

Sankofa Scholars Application Opens – Space is limited; applicants are encouraged to apply early

March 2

Sankofa Scholars Application Priority Deadline –Notifications of acceptance to the Sankofa program will be sent by April 1 for priority applicants, contingent upon Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV Fall admission.

After March 2nd

Documents received after the priority deadline will still be accepted on a space-available basis. Notifications of acceptance to the Sankofa program for non-priority applicants will be sent by mid-June, contingent upon Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV Fall admission
