Getting Your Gaming Consoles and Multimedia Equipment Connected
CSU Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV is now providing a mechanism to connect some gaming consoles and Internet TV devices to the wireless network in the residence halls through a self-service registration process. Each resident can have up to three entertainment devices connected to "TheHts" network at a time. Device registrations are automatically deleted between Summer and Fall of each year. This service is offered as a convenience to residential students; the Information Technology Services (ITS) Service Desk does not provide support for gaming consoles and Internet TV devices.
For Roku SmartTV, do the following after registering your device:
From the Roku Home screen, select Settings > Network > Set up new wireless connection > TheHts > "I am at home"
WARNING – DO NOT SELECT "I am at a hotel or college dorm"
There is no cellular data. What should I do?
Housing is aware of the poor cellular signal and has attempted to work with other carriers, but has been unsuccessful. One of the main reasons for poor cell signal is the lack of nearby cell towers. Cell towers are responsible for transmitting and receiving signals; the farther you are from a tower, the weaker the signal becomes. Unfortunately, the placement and availability of cell towers are beyond our control. Below are some steps to resolve some issues.
