2023 Earth Week (April 18 to April 23, 2023)
Welcome to Earth Week 2023. This year’s events, hosted by the Committee on Sustainability, highlight and promote sustainability on campus and across the Bay Area. For a complete list of events by day expand the accordion below. We hope to see you at one of the many events throughout the week!
Committee on Sustainability Tabling Events with Campus and Community Organizations

Location: Unions/Meiklejohn Walkway
ASI Free Bamboo Bento Box Lunch Set for the first 50 students on Tuesday and the first 50 students on Thursday who complete "passport cards" with 15 stamps from different organizations. Passports can be picked up at the Associated Students Inc. table the day of the event.
City of Hayward Earth Day Clean-Up & Community Fair (Free Lunch and DJ)

Saturday, April 22, 2023 8am to 1:30pm for Clean-Up

- Join the City of Hayward and the Keep Hayward Clean and Green Taskforce in celebrating Earth Day 2023 by participating in the family-friendly Annual Citywide Clean-Up on Saturday, April 22 at Weekes Park.
- The Clean-Up will begin at 8:30 a.m., at which time attendees will be given gloves, a trash picker, a vest, and trash bags. Participants will then be free to collect litter from around Weekes Park and the nearby community. Interested volunteers will also be deployed to collect litter in neighborhoods throughout the City. The litter collection will be followed by a free lunch from local restaurant and a community Earth Day fair, with several local organizations hosting sustainability-themed booths and activities including , , , and Hayward Promise Neighborhood. There will also be a DJ and prizes raffled off to volunteers during the community fair.
- Pre-registration for the event is available until 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 20. Registration is required in order to receive a free lunch. for Clean-Up
- If you are unable to make it to Weekes Park, but would like to organize a litter pick-up in your neighborhood or school on April 22, please contact Sustainability Specialist Nicole Grucky at nicole.grucky@hayward-ca.gov. The City of Hayward can provide you tools like gloves, bags, and litter grabbers, as well as pick up your collected litter at the end of the day.
