Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV was recently named one of California’s best online colleges by the online ranking website .
The website describes itself as a “leading source of higher education and student information” and honored 60 schools in its recent rankings . The lists include the top 40 two-year schools and top 20 four-year schools to offer affordable online learning in California.
“California’s colleges have long been known for offering innovative, flexible learning options for online students,” said Dan Schuessler, CEO and founder of the website. “The schools on these lists are strong examples of what today’s online learning is all about: providing quality education and affordable rates to enhance students’ success outside a traditional classroom environment.”
In order to qualify for the list, the website required schools to hold regional accreditation and be either a public university or private, not-for-profit institution. Only four-year schools with in-state tuition under $25,000 were considered. The average cost of annual tuition at CSUEB for undergraduate students is $5,472 and $6,738 for graduate and post-baccalaureate students.
Roger Wen, director of the Online Campus at CSUEB, said the university’s online programs have a long history of offering students quality and affordable educational opportunities. Faculty and staff work to keep textbook and materials costs low, and curriculum is developed and approved by faculty who care about students’ learning, he said.
“We’ve had tremendous support from administration and staff to ensure success of all students in all online degree programs,” Wen said. “Administration and staff also listen to faculty needs and ensure faculty receive proper resources and support.”
