Peter Guber, co-owner and co-executive chairman of the Golden State Warriors, will be headlining Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV’s inaugural Rising in the East fundraising gala Sept. 24 at the university's Hayward campus.

Guber is also an owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Football Club (slated to begin play in  in 2018), Dick Clark Productions, and Mandalay Sports Media. He is chairman and CEO of Mandalay Entertainment Group as well.

Guber has been a professor at UCLA for three decades and currently teaches in the university’s Anderson School of Management and the School of Theater Film and Television. His book, “Tell to Win,” was a No. 1 New York Times bestseller in 2011.

The Rising in the East gala is the public phase of the university’s first-ever campaign to raise $60 million by June 20, 2019. To date, CSUEB has raised more than half the goal amount, which will enhance the university's ability to provide education to future leaders in business, science, health care, teaching, humanities and the arts.

The marquee event is expected to draw at least 300 attendees including local, regional and national political leaders, alumni, sports and entertainment figures, and members of the media.
