Your NetID is your personal Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV identification number that allows you online access to student self-service systems such as Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV email, Blackboard, and MyCSUEB.

After submitting an application for admission, you will receive your NetID by mail with instructions for setting your personal password. Please keep your NetID and password in a safe place. For assistance or questions about NetID or resetting passwords, please visit the  online or contact the servicedesk@csueastbay.edu.

After you have activated your NetID, you can set up your Horizon E-mail account. All students receive a Horizon student e-mail account. This e-mail account is where important University communication will be sent about your academic status, classes, fees, financial aid, and more. In addition, this is the e-mail address professors will use to communicate with you. It is your responsibility to check your Horizon e-mail regularly for official University notices and updates.

You can log in to your Horizon e-mail account with your NetID and password. Access and learn to use your Horizon student e-mail at .

MyCSUEB is your personal student portal. Check the status of your application and see a list of your outstanding requirements, through MyCSUEB.

It is important that you check your MyCSUEB "To Do List" items regularly for items that need to be completed and submitted for your application.

If the item status indicates "initiated" that means the item is needed and action is required on your part.  You must submit all requested documents by their deadlines

Please allow two to four weeks for the receipt of transcripts and test scores to be recorded.

To access MyCSUEB you will need a NetID and password.

Individual graduate departments may have additional admission standards for their programs (e.g., letters of recommendation, resumes, test scores). Contact your academic department for more information.

Some  graduate programs may require Letters of Recommendation. If the program requires that the letters be submitted through Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV, click here for tips and guidelines.  Otherwise, contact the program for instructions.

Cal State Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV requires applicants to submit official, final transcripts from all institutions attended to the Office of Admissions. This includes all institutions before and after your bachelor’s degree. The Office of Admissions does not accept composite transcripts.  Courses that appear on one transcript but taken at another institution will need to have transcript sent from that original institution. If a degree is in progress, please make sure that the degree is recorded on your transcript prior to submitting your transcript to our campus.

If your graduate program also requires official transcripts, you will need to send additional copies directly to your department.

All acceptances are conditional and contingent upon verification that all required work/degree was completed.  Be sure to submit your documents by the published Document Deadlines. View how to submit documents.

The university and your department will provide orientation materials to help you understand your degree program and choose the courses in which you should enroll.

  • The university Orientation office holds an online orientation for new graduate students each semester.
  • The Office of Graduate Studies also offers an older orientation  covering additional topics.
  • Your department will also offer a program-specific orientation. Contact your Academic Department or your program's graduate coordinator for more information.
